Useful Costuming Resources
I find Pinterest a great resource for keeping all my research images together. It's also a great way to share inspiration boards with other people involved in a project.
Whenever I start drooling over a movie costume, I head to The Costumer's Guide to Movie Costumes, and chances are good there's an excellent, detailed breakdown there.
I start every costuming class I teach with an excerpt from The Costumer's Manifesto, by Tara Maginnis, PhD. It's chock full of lessons on meta-costuming: the logistics behind interacting with a team, staying organized, and teaching. It's an invaluable collection of information.
My first research rabbit hole was for an Elven-style fantasy dress for my sister when I was fourteen. The fan-compiled Lord of the Rings Costume gallery at alleycatscratch.com was immensely helpful as I embarked on my first big costuming project, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Groups I've Worked With...
I owe much (and try to give much) to my first theater group that took me in as a lowly freshman: the MIT Musical Theatre Guild. I'm still Costume Shop Manager there.
Moonbox Productions hired me for my very first professional costuming gig, and they continue to be a wonderful theater family.
I LARP (and sometimes write games) with the MIT Assassins Guild and at Intercon. I love LARP costume: the potential for character building is great, and the functionality requirements are a great technical challenge.
